What is Transition Security?
The transition security scheme supports the re-employment of employees over the age of 55 who have been dismissed for production-related or financial reasons.
The scheme includes:
- Transition security allowance (equivalent to one month’s salary)
- Transition security training (lasting up to 6 months and valued at up to 2 months’ salary)
- Re-employment leave, which may be 5, 15, or 25 days long
- Within the transition security scheme, the unemployment fund is responsible for the transition security allowance and will pay you an amount corresponding to one month’s salary, provided the conditions are met.
For more information on transition security training, contact the employment authorities or the ELY Centres.
For more information on re-employment leave, contact your trade union.
