You can join the fund through your trade union or as an individual member of the Super Unemployment Fund.

Mandatory waiting periods for unemployment benefit are tightened from the beginning of March
The legislative amendment applies only to mandatory waiting periods related to job seeking and labour market services.
The membership fee for the Super Unemployment Fund in 2026 is 84 euros
The Financial Supervisory Authority (Finanssivalvonta) has confirmed the membership fee for 2026 at 84 euros per year, which equals 7 euros per month.
