Applying for Earnings-Related Daily Allowance
Note! The more carefully and accurately you fill out your application, the fewer additional details or documents will be requested, and the faster the fund will be able to process your application. This is especially important during the summer months, when the number of applications increases due to layoffs and work interruptions.
- Submit your first application for the earnings-related daily allowance through Nettikassa. You can send the application after a full two calendar weeks (Mon–Sun) if you are completely unemployed and do not receive any wages for part-time or occasional work during that period. The last day of the application period must be either a Sunday or the last day of the month. If you receive wages for part-time or occasional work during the application period, submit your application for a full four calendar weeks (Mon–Sun) or for a calendar month. If you have been laid off, the allowance should be applied for full calendar weeks. Submit the first application for two full weeks via Nettikassa and the next one for four full weeks.
- Attach all required documents when submitting your application to the unemployment fund.
- When applying for the benefit, you must also report if you are applying for any other social benefits, even if you have not yet received a decision about them.
- In Nettikassa, you can see when your application has been received by the fund and when it has been taken into processing. Applications are handled in the order they are received and cannot be expedited. Attachments are reviewed once the application is being processed, and the handler will request any additional information if needed. You can check the current processing status here.
- Once your first application has been processed, submit further applications for periods of four full calendar weeks (Mon–Sun) or a calendar month at a time.
Please note that your application must reach the fund within three months of the first day for which you are claiming the allowance.
