Membership in the unemployment fund is worthwhile, because the earnings-related benefit for someone who becomes unemployed after full-time employment is significantly higher than the fixed-rate basic unemployment allowance or labor market subsidy paid by Kela!

 

Attachments for Your Application

Submit to the unemployment fund all documents that apply to your personal situation

  • Employment contract from your job before unemployment
  • Employment contract for any part-time or occasional work you are doing
  • Notice of termination, if you have been dismissed or have resigned yourself

  • Agreement related to the termination of your employment relationship
  • Payslips or a certificate of earnings covering at least 12 months that meet the employment condition immediately before unemployment. Whenever possible, we use data from the Incomes Register. The employment condition period is 12 calendar months (1 year).
  • If you have received holiday compensation from your full-time job, provide a payslip showing the amount of compensation paid.
  • If you have not received holiday compensation, we need confirmation that you have taken all your annual leave during your employment.
  • Layoff notice, if you have been laid off
  • Most recent confirmed tax decision and its breakdown, if you have business activity or agricultural/forestry income
  • Decision on other social benefits LINKKI, if applicable

  • Note: We usually receive your income data directly from the Incomes Register, but if necessary, we will request any additional attachments when your application is under review. Payslips are often needed if you have been working on an hourly wage basis.
