Temporary legislative changes ended on 30 November 2021

The temporary legislative changes on the exempt amount and mobility allowance ended on 30 November 2021. The exempt amount of unemployment security is lowered back to 300 euros. This means that you can earn 300 euros without it affecting your earnings-related daily allowance. Of earnings exceeding this, about half will decrease your amount of earnings-related daily allowance. The exempt amount is still 500 euros if the application period has started by 30 November 2021. The exempt amount is 300 euros for application periods that start on or after 1 December 2021.

The exempt amount is 300 euros when applying every calendar month and 279 euros when applying every four calendar weeks.
